As you guys know I was born in Poland …many might not know that I still speak the language fluently and intend to visit Warsaw soon.
It has been a long time since I’ve been to Poland and I am beyond excited to spend more time there.

Now I ‘d like to hear from my polish fans (or those who know Poland well) on this blog….
What’s hot in Poland? What’s new on the economy? Where to stay and what to see (aside from your house)? what shows are hot on TV?
Hottest fashion designer and actor? Worst and best politician?
Everyone in Poland talks about what right now?
Best restaurants in Warsaw? your favorite hangout?
Please give me YOUR inside scoop ….(but in English, so everyone can learn about our lovely country )

  1. Generally speaking the Polish economy is on the rise. But we all have to take into consideration that a global recession is about to hit Europe hard….not just the US.

  6. Hello Joanna !

    English version:

    Hello Joanna!
Wonderfully you remember about us, about your native country. Poland recently well unrolled and there was money for the far more bigger number of investment. Unfortunately the power wasn’t able properly to use them. Now when the crisis also afflicted and of us, work places are being closed and people are losing jobs. They were ordering Poland to announce the bankruptcy of shipyards, because they didn’t let for them help financially. It is worst, that France, to do Germany already it they can and they are helping their enterprises. I treat myself of us unfairly. Polish handball players got a bronze medal of the world championships. It is possible this way to write and to write… You have many fans in Poland, and I is supporting you already for 5 years. Please keep us informed about your arrival. By the way I am congratulating the latest version on the side. Hugs from winter at present of Poland!

  8. I don’t know when you have been last time in Poland but there’s a shopping centre in Warszawa called “zlote tarasy”- it’s about 2 years now since it has been opened. It’s one of the biggest shopping centres in the middle europe and it looks nice;)
If you are going to visit any other city than Warszawa i can reccomend you Wroclaw- this city is evolving in past years and at the moment the richest men in Poland is building there kind of “polish manhattan”.
The last “hot” show in TV was polish edition of “Got Talent”- new edition should run in April. If you wish to see a videos from last edition go here:
    http://mamtalent.plejada.pl/

The worst politician is of course our president(and his brother). Words can’t describe his stupidity.

If you are looking for some restaurants- you can find a really good pizza at da grasso restaurants. In Zlote Tarasy you can find some coffee shops and fast foods with typical american food;)

If I will remind myself about something more I will write for sure.
I hope you will have a great time in Poland, Love You.

What You must see in Poland is Speedway Racing. Polish league is the best in the world. Every good rider in the world is riding in Polish League. Racing is fantastic, You’d love it. Someone earlier said about “Euro 2012″ that will take place in Poland. Hope you’ll visit us sooner though :)

  27. Siema Joanna!
On January every year, everywhere in Poland we have music campaign “wielka orkiestra swiatecznej pomocy” by crazyman Jurek Owsiak. Much money from wosp are destinied to buy a medical equipment for hospitals, that to save sick children. In summer 1997 there was big flood on west Poland by Odra river.President Kaczynski can’t speak in english. We have a “Donald duck” in polish government.

From the other site:Lukas Podolski was born in Gliwice is polish, but he plays in german soccer team (superstar). On June 2008 in Euro soccer championship Austria-Switzerland in Klagenfurt it was shocking. Podolski shot 2 goals for Germany and against us. When he did,he was unhappy. The second Tomasz Godoj born in Rybnik is a singer. On June 2008 he was a winner of German Idol in Cologne city. Earlier he was on unemployment. If you don’t know The cities:Rybnik,Gliwice are nearby the Katowice city in Silesia. Maybe you know Iza Miko and Natalia Lesz (singer).

Last time you remind about native: I saw you in Sobieski Vodka party (you promoted). In FoxBusiness: Happyhour you said: dziendobry, do widzenia ,czesc, kochanie,na zdrowie.

Interesting details: There are many Joanna Krupa in Poland. The second popular JK is culturist with muscles, the third is journalist. Popular street in Zakopane town (under the Tatra mountains) is called Krupówki(with many pubs, restaurants and souvenirs).
Important question: Joasiu dlaczego przez ten dlugi czas, do tej pory nie przyjezdzalas do Polski?
    Ich liebe dich Joasia! :)

  28. Hey!

I’m French but I lived in Warsaw 6 years. My english is pretty bad and my polish to..!
Warsaw is a very nice city, one of my best in the world. As Aleksandra said there are many shopping centre perfect for shoping. My father loves so much Warsaw so he bought an appartement here, in the center, next to ulica marszalkowska. Now we live in Togo, my parents are divorced (I’m 17) and my father go in poland during all his holliday (and me too when I can). His girlfriend is Polish and they maked a kid so I have a litle polish sister now!
I stop my story now because it doesn’t interest nobody.
Take pleasure in this beautiful city
And be sure I will live here after the university!

    dowidzenia

PS: If you want to go clubing, you have the opera club, a nice place next to the opera. And the Platinium -a chic club- good for you I guess :)

  29. Hello, Joanna.

If you like history or to “go back in time” and imagine how the world was once, you should take a tour to one of the many beautiful medieval castles in Poland. Ciechanow Castle and Malbork Castle are two of the more famous castles and the latter is on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.

    Have a nice trip :)

  42. Hi Joasia!
I love you , I’m your fan and I have known you for 2 years. Everything about you is OK. But there is one problem - I can’t understand your date of birth: 1981 or 1979? Please check on (about you) on websites:polish and english Wikipedia,IMDB,whodateswho etc. There is written 1979. Earlier it has written 1981 for a long time. If it’s true, that you were born in 1979, who has thought 1981? What’s going on? It terribles me, that they are change from 1981 to 1979. I was born in 1981.

    Comment by marko — 03/27/2009 @ 8:23 am

  43. It is a shame you do not have pride about being Polish. And to bring the Pope’s name into furthering your career to justify your ideas about nudity is a disgrace to Poles and to him.

    Comment by Barbara — 03/27/2009 @ 9:16 am

  44. You are way off tracks there, Barbara. First of all; a disgrace to the Pope John Paul can never be a disgrace to any Pole, since his title had nothing to do with the fact that he was Polish. So stuff your misguided nationalistic pride.
Second; Joanna has just as much right to interpret Pope John Pauls words, as has anyone else. And besides, her pictures are never vulgar or pornographic, but classy.
Of course every male who looks at her pictures feels an “unholy lust”, but that must be a sin at the receivers end and not the senders.
Joanna must be most beautiful human being God ever created - not to show the rest of us that, would be a sin. God must be a man!

    Comment by GB — 03/31/2009 @ 1:48 pm

  45. The truth is, that you were born in 1979 and now in April you finish 30. If so, why were you lying us, that you are 1981. Why did’t you admit for 1979? Why the many magazines, newspapers and websites have written the unreally your year of birth? I’m your fan therefore, I believed that you 1981. Now I feel fooled from websites. It’s unfair that many famous people have 1 date of birth and you 3: 23 april 1979 1981, 9 october 1980.

  63. Hi Joanna,
You ask what people talk about in Poland right now…well, among others, they talk about you! :) Everything due to the picture with a cross u took to focus people’s attention on animals protection. I watched ‘Teraz My’ yesterday where they showed the video conversation with you about the whole thing and I have one thing to say - Poland is still too conservative to let go on some issues and focus on what’s really important. You have my support!
